Koto string replacement and string tightening

Koto string replacement and string tightening usually takes about a week. If you would like to take it home on the day of your visit, please make a reservation by phone or email (let us know your preferred date and time) . It takes about an hour to tighten the strings per koto. Please note that we use tetoron koto strings for string replacement and string tightening, and we do not handle silk strings.

If the strings break due to damage, even if only one string is broken, other strings may also be prone to breaking. In that case, we recommend replacing all strings with new ones.

■ Tightening the strings (no replacement of strings, just tightening the strings) ■
String tightening (cutting and transposition) 1 thread only 1,925 yen
Kiritsume (Trimming) 7,700 yen (We will cut the damaged part of the strings and tighten them. *This is only possible if the strings are long enough.)
Tenchi (Transposition) 8,800 yen (The part where koto tsume touches and the part that koto tsume does not touch are swapped and the strings are tightened.)
